Title: Premix oil
Post by: kev-yorks on April 04, 2006, 10:37:25 PM
Hi all ive been speaking to Simon (oilman) about premix in a rotary whilst i asked about my specific 20b aplication this should apply to all rotary\'s out there below his his response after he had spoke to the chemists at silkolene.
Kevin,

QuoteI spoke to the Silkolene Chemist this morning about premixing in a 20b rotary engine.

He does not advise using a Castor based oil (even though they smell great) due to the potential for tip seals sticking.

His recommendation is to use a product like Silkolene Comp 2 Premix (available on our website in the Silkolene Bike oils section) as this is a high load carrying, shear stable two stroke. The recommended mix is 1:50.

If you wish to post this reply on MRC then please feel free.

Regards
Simon

Weve been selling this oil for pre-mix, basically a 2 stroke bike oil.

I\'ve always used 2 stroke outboard engine oil as it smokes less.

I run 100:1 in my n/a engines.
