Was sitting here hovering over the for sale section ready to post my car up for sale! Just had about enough of crawling about underneath it getting nowhere fast.
Bit of advice for anyone thinking of doing any major work themselves, unless your an expert don\'t bother its not worth the aggro.
Why do we own these cars again? i\'ve forgotton.
I think when it comes to rx\'s they are a pain but other cars just dont have the same feel, i sold my first one went through other decent cars looking for a thrill but then came back to the rx7 :Giggle

Hi Graham,
I have despaired many times over the years whilst modifying cars and you do need a hell of a lot more patience than most people realise, however hang in their as you have done well so far and you are getting there.
My advise to you is close the garage and take your beloved out for the day tomorrow and leave it alone till next week otherwise you will end up doing more harm than good to the car and possibly yourself if your trying to work on it with the hump
Try and keep it in your head that you will end up with a very formidable motor car when you have completed it and that all this aggro will be worth it :Thumbs-up .
( BTW the guy who is going to sort your downpipe will sort the Turbo end as well)
its not an rx7 thing, its the same with a modified anything ... just spent 6 hours solid trying to work out why we have no spark on one of our rally cars ... can\'t take it down to the dealer to fix it as it has parts from at least 5 different manufacturers ! Best thing is to do as Clive says and walk away and come back to it when you feel like working on it. Remember that working on the car is part of the fun ... it all becomes very clear why once you finish :)
we do it for pleasure when its done by yourself -I THINK !
just spent 4 hours taking popup lights out and getting 1 side roughly in place of new sleeks
as above go out get ratted - dont sell
Pete
Ive been there so many times buddy, and a few times this week actually :2Confused but it will be worth it in the end. There is this guy i know at work, blew up the engine on his gts skyline and 8 months and 9 grand later he still hasnt got it back :2eek so there are people worse off mate :yes
Been there, still there. Might well sell it worth getting it mapped once back with me. Cant be arsed anymore.

:D Glad im not alone... spent the last few days trying to figure out why i had a single rotor when i apparently had both spark and fuel on the dead one, i was beginning to fear the worst. After much fiddling its back on two rotors this afternoon and going well but i still dont really know why... remains to be seen if it makes it to Brooklands or not.
As clive and mike say, if it gets on your t1ts, leave it a look at it with fresh eyes the next day, it realy does make all the difference. I have spent the last 2 months sorting out my boost problem and i must have taken the turbo, manifold or wastegate off 100 times. I thought about breaking the car. I got there in the end but it does take patience.
You are nearly there, when you get the down pipe done i can pop up and have at look at any last bits causing you grief if you like.

i know EXACTLY how you feel mate. :p
best thing for it is to try again when you dont have the tit on, or let your frustrations out on something that wont matter if you break it. :cool
