Title: RX7 Generation 3 Engine Questions?
Post by: dan1973 on March 31, 2006, 06:21:22 AM
I\'m wondering if any of you guys can help me out here. I\'ve just bought a Mazda RX7 generation 3, at the moment it starts ok and ticks over. But i have a problem with the car holding it\'s water down. At the moment it\'s throwing water out of the engine water cap while reving it. If it was a normal car i would say it was the head gasket, but this is my first Rotary engine. So any advise from the experienced would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for you help.

Hi Dan,

Make sure you have the plain cap on the engine and the pressure cap on the AST ( air seperator tank) then fill the engine only by topping up via the cap on the engine leaving the other two alone.

Give the car a run then allow to cool fully and then top up the engine one only as the system will self regulate itself.

By topping every thing up they will dump water from the expansion tank on the O/S inner wing from a small overflow hole.

Hope this helps.
