Title: 4500rpm turbo transition...
Post by: Jono FD3 on March 27, 2006, 05:29:51 PM
Rite, on the FD I know there is a buterfly valve that opens at 4500 Rpm to allow the boost from the second turbo in to the plenum........ Is there another valve / butterfly on the exhaust side to alow the turbo to spool up???

The reason I ask is: On my FD the second turbo isn\'t kicking in any more and when I back off I get a weard squeek from the blow off valve (Similar sound to the HKS SSQV), but if I dab my foot down and off imidiatly again I get the usual dump of boost!!???

Can anyone help as I\'m confussed???

I had the exact problem a few weeks back, a boost hose was loose. Check all the hoses near the plenum area to make sure they are all connected propperly, check the black box with 2 hoses, just under the strut brace.
