Title: Re-Trimming Bucket Seat
Post by: GerbilStuntFarm on March 26, 2006, 09:43:36 PM
Has anyone any experience with upholstery companies good or bad? Need to recover my bucket seat as it\'s quite badly faded and doubt it can be dyed without applying heat, and it\'s lycra or plastic backed so thats out the question..

I was going to try Allon White but thought best to ask first.

Cheaper to buy a new seat no doubt but at least you can personalise ones you recover, considered buying a sewing machine but i\'ve no idea what im doing and stitching my fingers to the cushions probably isnt ideal.

Cheers, Jode

Ps. I\'ve truly no idea where this post should go.

Uhm, not sure. My front seats are red leather and a bit scuffed on the side bolsters where you get in and out (also one has a small gash in it). Like you, I am considering having them restored but no idea of cost or exactly who to go to. Hope you don\'t mind me piggy-backing your thread.  ;)

I had one re-covered a little while ago, but then again my mother is a seamstress.

Hi,
There\'s a place near Ponders End called B-Trim. I\'ve passed a few times and Its often had exotic cars outside waiting for their services. Never tried them but it\'s somewhere to start.

Sadly the place that I know and trust is in Bromley.

If you dont get any joy let me know. But ask to see their work before dropping your seat in there.
