Hi,
Just got my first RX-7.
I have found this site to have helped a lot with choosing a RX7, the hint\'s and tips on what to look out for etc.... :god
Have already found it is fun in the wet, even when slightly accelerating out of a corner, so have made a mental note to myself, to take it nice and slow for a while until i am used to it,
I am going to try and goto the meeting on the 11th April.
Hello and welcome to the club mate. joined just in time for rotorstock aswell :3gears-rh There is also quite alot of folk from your neck of the woods, so nice and handy for meets and the like.

I bet you\'ve got the rx7 smile on your face everytime you drive it now. Its a great feeling :) But like the guys have said, take it easy till you get used to it as they really can bite you hard!
Got any pictures of it yet that you can share with us? or a brief discription
Adam
Nope not running Jap Stock Tyres, read about them on here.
It is mainly that the road to my work, is full of lorry\'s and industrial vechicles so there is a lot of oil and greese on the road, and it was wet, so it made a lovely combination.
Just was a bit of a shock to the system first.
Hopefully gonna get down to the Rotary Meet on the 11th in Dartford.
Nice to see another rx in the local area :) . Il be at the meet on the 11th, im from the meopham area. So if you seen a black rx driving around gravesend its probably me. My cars out of action at the mo but should be ready in a week for the meet.
will be good to see you down there to m8, and the others, looking forward to it.
Welcome my good man.
Let see some pics of your new ride :Thumbs-up and as you have gathered take ot easy until you think you are ok to open her up :D

Hi Bleakboy and Welcome to MRC and thanks for immediately becoming a full club member :) .
BTW, there is our Spring Rotary meeting at Brooklands on the 2nd April and as a club member admission is free so you haven\'t got to wait long if you want to meet like minded people
Morning Martin,
The Jap tyre thing comes from the fact that Japanese tyres for their home market are made using a harder compound of rubber mix which aint a lot of good on our cold wet roads.
Even some owners of U/K RX-8\'s have found a marked improvement by changing their tyres.
When I worked in a Mazda garage in the 70\'s many owners used to come back sometimes within days to get the Dunlop\'s removed from their nice new cars to get some UK rubber fitted.
Hello and welcome. :wave

I aways thought that it was because of the 112mph speed limiter. The japanese have therefore lower speed rating tyres :3gears-lh :2Confused

I definitely felt the difference between the Jap spec tyres that I got my FD with, and the Goodyear F1s I replaced them with, at speeds significantly lower than 112mph! I managed to get the back out in 3rd gear at about 30mph when going straight across a cold, greasy roundabout; I suspect the Japanese tyres just never get up to a decent operating temperature in this country unless you are on a track.
I hope you enjoy your new car. Have fun!!!!1 BUT! be ver very very very careful in the wet. I don\'t like to see sad REX7 owners, and there has been lots this year. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! :wave
I thought there were a lot of guys on here with Bridgestones?

indeed but the jap tyres produce for jap roads use a different (harder) compound than the ones produced for the uk market due to differeing road conditions.
