Title: Where\'s the grommit to pass power cable through?
Post by: DarranJones on March 23, 2006, 01:45:41 PM
I\'m going to be doing a stereo install fairly soon but I have one question.

I\'ve heard there\'s some form of grommit on the firewall that you can pass the power cable for your amps through, but I haven\'t been able to find it myself.

Could anyone point out it\'s location? Possibly even post a photo of its whereabouts?

Kind Regards,

Darran.

PS - If anyone\'s curious, here\'s the kit im using:

Pioneer DEH-P77MP headunit
Pioneer CDX-P670 6 slot cd changer
JL e4300 4 channel amp
JL e1200 monoblock amp
JL 10" w3v2 sub
JL VR 5.25" csi front speakers and tweaters
JL TR 5x7" cxi rear speakers

There is a rubber gromit on the left hand side as you face the car from the front (near side). its where the main wiring loom comes through from the cab of the vehicle, its situated underneath the windscreen wiper motor, its quite difficult to get too because of the ABS unit but not im possible.

Cheers

There\'s also a grommet on the passnger side of the car, in the wheel arch. If you remove the wheel arch liner, you\'ll see a rummer grommet there. This is what i used to pass my power cable through for my relocation of the battery.
