Mark,

I am with Firebond, and 12 months insurance for social, domestic, pleasure and commuting is £204.80. That\'s for a standard condition 2 1982 RX7 doing a max of 6000 miles per year. I gave a value of £1500 for insurance purposes.

Have just moved house, and informed them of change of address - got a letter of confirmation within one working day!!!

Firebond have never messeed me around, unlike Dial Direct who I went with for my main car (\'94 Civic ESi). Got a really cheap quote for the new policy, then when I moved house a few weeks later I had to pay an extra 50%, even though car now off road in a better area!

I would definately steer clear of Dial Direct, and heartily recommend Firebond. Only downside with Firebond is that you don\'t accrue no-claims discount.

Got some quote yesterday
AON spoke to Adam Siviter, he really knew what he was on about with the engine etc really good went trough all the details 5000 miles a year valued at £4000, £250 excess and £40 for glass, went trough all the mods on the car delocked cat 1 alarm garagred weber ported bodykit spoiler wheels etc £325 fully comp

Norton these were good but didnt seam to be as thorough i know it was only a quote but its reasuring to talk to some one who understands you car 6 photos for a agreed value (fair enough) £200 excess £40 glass 5000 miles a year £296 fully comp

i was just wondering if anyone is using either broker as i know it sounds silly i feel more confident in going with AON because of there aparant knowledge i know its more expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for, any feedback would be greatly apriciated
thanks

Mark,

Try Norton Insurance Brokers, I got a very good deal with them, fully comp with a limited mileage of 3000, garaged.

They were the lowest but as i said they didnt put much confidence in me incase things did go wrong, how do you find them, did you agree a value?

I agreed a value with Norton based on guide prices suggested in various magazines but I\'ll probably try to increase this when I renew the insurance. No probs with them in general, dont think I was quite as thorough as you though in selecting a broker, mainly went on the low quote. I think going with AON might be wise in your case as I agree they sound like they understand the car and the modifications better and based on your agreed value I think they\'ve offered you a pretty good deal. As mine is completely stock (at the moment  :D ) I feel pretty happy with the cover provided by Norton.

You could try A-Plan........They insure a fair few Rotaries and seem OK on price.
