Title: fuel hose thread size for fuel rails
Post by: stuart wizy on March 22, 2006, 07:52:00 PM
I have made 2 -10.5" long x 3/4"box ali fuel rails with 4  bored collets welded on each. on the ends of the rails i have welded 10mm thick end caps.
I want to use 10mm braided fuel hoses with npt thread fittings joining the 2 rails, to fuel pressure reg and fuel in and return pipes.
can 10mm braided fuel lines be made up with 1/8 npt fittings on?
I need to know because im ready for tapping the ends of my fuel rails.
I thought maybe the thread size would jump up to 3/16" npt due to 10mm fuel pipes larger bore for more fuel flow.
does anyone know?

most fuel lines use AN type fittings ... Theres some strange rule to work out the thread based on the dash number if I remember correctly ... a search for Army Navy fittings would help

You\'re not fixed to one thread size, there are plenty of adapters for AN fittings. Have a look HERE (http://www.earls.co.uk/earls/car/3_hose_fittings_adapters/index.html)
