have looked around tech info just want to be sure of following please.
1st service since i got the RX7 in a couple of weeks time mechanics not done an RX before but looked after EVO and cosworth so is capable guy, standard car except for power fc and commander.
plugs currently NGK 9\'s all round seems should be 9 leading 8 trailing (its running fine a little popping at idle ) most trips are 20 miles plus am i ok with all 9\'s ?
oil looking at mobil 1 ?
coolant as i understand it 50/50 water antifreeze does it need to be distilled water ?
anything else i should have done ?
Pete
Most seem to use 9\'s all round no problem distilled water for what it costs gives a bit of piece of mind. As regards oil that\'s the great debate some say mineral oil only some use semi synthetics and other full synthetics. Do a search there\'s loads of myths and rumors as regards oil. Personally I\'m using a full synthetic Total Quarts 9000, but its one of those where you must read up and make your own decision unless there\'s a warranty on the car and in that case go with there recommendations.

hi,
just gonna throw my 2 p.
- if you drain your coolant, please flush the hole systmem this way:
drain the water from your rad and the engine. Fill up with destilled water ONLY. Go for a drive with heater set to MAX, for about 5 mins. Let her cool down. Drain the water again. Now fill up with the 50:50 mix of antifreeze and destilled water.
- change your oil and oil filter. (they are many sites to read about oil questions. I use Castrol GTX 15W/40 for many years now, without any problems)
- if your plugs are unknown age, just change them. Go with 9s all arround and you should be OK.
- Change your FUEL-Filter
- Check your brake fluids, replace if neccessary
- Check all the belts for cracks etc.
- Replace your Gear-Box and Diff oil
- What is about your air cleaner?
- Check the brake- discs and pads
- take a closer look at your brake- lines
- Check if your suspension is in good shape (bushing etc)
hope this help...

When you get the induction kit, think about heat shielding as well.... I\'ve got a HKS induction kit, and it sucks hot air in from the radiator :(

The only other thing I can think to add is to make sure the coolant you use is (and I have no idea how to spell it!!) Ethalene Glycol as the other types are not friendly to aluminium :)
