Title: technical - help with lights
Post by: anthony on March 18, 2006, 07:41:02 PM
my pop up lights, suddenly decided to pop down for a few seconds then down again tonight, then it would last a few mins and do the same again.. theyd suddenly go out then go half way down or all the way down..
then i just had them off but tried them a bit later on my way home.. did the same and then they wouldnt come up again at all..
pritty sure its some electrical fault like fuse or loose connection probably latter as it maybe went down when it got bumped by the road or something.

wheres the fuse for the lights? is that in the main fuse box by the battery? any one had this prob before?

As its intermittent doesn\'t sound like a fuse i think you need to be checking the wiring for broken wires loose connections. Time to get the multimeter out.

looks like its the headlight fuse.. on inspection some one has put a 20amp one in with some dodgy alterations inside... but the main reason its not working properly is because its the wrong one so its loose, so when you move it, it moves out of place and lights go off.. so it has obviously just worked itself looser and looser..

so anyway where can i get one of these mazda 30amp fuses? halfords didnt have any, am i going to have order 5 from mazda or something or does someone know where i can order just one from?

thanks all :)

Most decent motor stores should be able to sort you out. I\'ve always found Halfords to be a bit crap for fuses, switches, bulbs, etc!
