Title: 4 wheel alignment - advice, tips and settings?
Post by: M@r]{ on March 17, 2006, 02:20:19 PM
Guys, having just fitted my new alloys I thought now would be a good a time as ever to get this checked.  Can anyone give any tips on what to have done?  Laser? etc.

Also any recommended places.

Most importantly what settings are best?  What are Mazda\'s standard?  And are there any improvements on that? I only ask as when i had my Elise a specialist come up with some improved settings to help get rid of the understeer associated with the S2 - worked great.

Laser would be the best system to have it done on. Where around M.K. or Cornwall I wouldnt know.

As for the settings look in the sticky thread.

just got mine done at Micheldever on the A303.  very good facilities and the guys know their job.  I took along the sticky settings and said i wanted it set to long track.  He did the best he could be couldn\'t get them spot on because the car is too low and reached the limits before the ideal settings! He mateched up each side though and the car def feels better at speed and under braking.

For future ref there\'s a top guy in Bedford who charges £100 for all four wheel laser alignment, he does mine every year before I go to the Ring and turns the car into a go kart.
Be interested what he does with the new Tein coilovers this year though, how far out from the sticky settings he needs to take it.

Mart.

I had mine done at Gforce motorsport in Aylesbury (4 wheel laser aligned) and had a set of Tein springs fitted and it transformed the handling of the car. They charge £75 for the laser alignment if I rememeber correctly.

What a place!! cheapest in the area for tyres too!! but thats why they constantly have a queue outside their building! good work and cheap prices - plus the do a wheel check with you too to make sure they don\'t damage ya wheels before they even start any work...

I\'m gonna get this done with them in the week once i\'m off shift!

I have had my wheels aligned now twice at Micheldever ..... very good service .... you will need to book in advance as, when I went last they said they only do this sort ( full alignment .... takes at least 45 minutes ) of thing twice a week.

Hi Mark,

I think it was about £120.

They do a very comprehensive job ...... well it takes long enough ..... it\'s great, you also get your steering wheel centred again although that goes after one track day !
