Title: Info on Downpipe and Oil Lines
Post by: Gman on March 17, 2006, 11:43:23 AM
Hi

Need to get a downpipe made for my single turbo, anyone know of any places around London/East Anglia way?  I did have a contact but he is up in Newcastle so its a bit far!  Also what measurements need to be taken for them to do a good job?

I am also contacting Pirtek to get my braided oil lines made up, can anyone tell me what measurents i need to take and spec of the lines i need.

Thanks, sorry for all the questions!

Got Hayward & Scott to make mine up from a template I took, came in at under 100 for a 3" pipe with flange and lambda thread.

Atpturbo in the states made my braided oil line for me, I found my old gt bb oil drain flange fits the rotary oil drain side nicely with a few modifications, some people just use rubber lines as opposed to braided.

I used some 3" flexihosing and bent it to shape, it\'s not a complicated design, two 135degree bends and a metre of tubing is plenty. I showed Ian how i wanted it and left it with him :Thumbsup!

Just looked at ATP Turbos site, did they supply you a complete set for the RX7 from stock or did they make it especially for you?

the drain doesnt have to be threaded for braided line. you could just use rubber hose. do you have anything on the turbo already? drain or feed?

I measure how much length I\'d need and they made it up for me.

Currently i have nothing, apart from some flange gaskets but they won\'t get me very far on their own :D

I have emailed them to see if they can do it for me but for speed i would prefer to get it done in the uk.  How long did they take to arrive?

They are usually very quick as long as they have everything they need in stock, will probably give some Uk traders a run for their money!

Gman, did you get anywhere with the oil lines as I need some? Where are you taking the top one from as the original metal pipe winds across the enigine and then down - I can\'t use the original metal pipe as it got a bit bend when I stepped back... and ... er...

Anyway...
