looks cool m8 is that a veilside rear spoiler i see before me? :D
Out of interest how did u get yer plate mounted like that above the intercooler bit it looks like the mounts on mine go infront of the space which i dont want, did u just bend yours back or is it more part of the actual front spoiler/bumper?, tempted to try a stick on..... ;)
Si
cheers, its a veilside copy cost £130 and was made really well and has led brake light built in, the number plate mount came like that when i brought the car , i think its standard.
Nath
I would be V cearfull - the mods you have carried out, you could run lean, I would suggest you look into fitting an after market ecu to prevent detination.
Nice car though:cool
Yeah im after and ECU but havent a clue what one or where to get one , what sort of price am i looking at:confused:
A fair number of peeps run the apexi pfc - shop around, sells for around £650.00 - try sence tuning in dorset, there are many other dealers but I\'m told he is one of the cheepest. Other ecu\'s available - Motec [loads of dosh but V good], Microtec [speek with Geff @ reworx]
All the above can be tuned in this country - make sure when odering you state the year of manufacture as there are variations.
Hope this helps:cool
have you got a number or owt for this sence tuning as i can\'t find anything on yellow pages site? Reason i ask is there is a group buy work in progress on scoobynet on the apexi goodies so i\'m trying to help organiser by getting some nice UK outlets to torment for good deals so any info wood be good......:D
Cheers

:)
Nath, I\'d get your car checked immediately, as John said you could be doing damage everytime you drive it. No CAT and a 4" pipe, will VERY likely be running lean when you hammer it, you could be doing damage you can\'t see or hear till it goes pop.
Or get an ECU and get it mapped :), more power, more fun!
Nice car :)
Dave
yeah i will get it checked soon but im right out of dosh at the momment:(
BTW where local to me can i get it checked in the South West:confused:
ha ha I know the feeling
then just don\'t hammer it buddy :)
(Just passing on advice I got)
Don\'t want to see you with a bigger bill :)
Bloody hell I\'m knackered this morning
Dave
Geoff at Reworx maybe, thats in Portsmouth ?
Dave
Hi Nath,
Car looks really nice, how much did you pay, its exactly what I\'m looking for :)
So did you do the mods or was it like it when you got it?
Peeps are saying be careful etc but If the mods where done before you got the car it could have been running lean for a while?
Dave :)
Nice Car Dude.
Black looks good. :cool
Just to get you thinking.
I hope you dont mind.
yeah dont forget the japs run 100 octane, so the mods done in Japan maybe fine, but the lower octane fuel in this country will make it run lean and det, unless we this 100 octane BP petrol everyone has been talking about
rumours are it isnt likely to be 100RON but that it shouldn\'t go off as quick as optimax, all just theories i guess at this time watch this space really init.......
Si
PS hmm black i no sum1 who\'s importing a black un ;)
Nath
Have a word with Ross - he is in Exeter - might be able to sort you a 2nd hand PFC. I\'m sure he would be happy to check it out for you [Evil Rotor]
davefrith - cheers ill give re-worx a call.
Davegtt - i picked the car up for 7.6K, I brouhgt the mods and RXmotors fitted them while it was having a general service etc..
rextreme - thats cool looks lush, whas thinking along the lines of 5 spoke or multi spoke , but im strapped for cash and i need the ECU first.
John Yorke - ill see if i can speak to Evil Rotor and see if he can sort me something.
Cheers every one , great help.
:)
Exactly the sort of price range I am looking at, car looks really nice mate :)
Yeah im happy with it , bit of a step up from a Corsa SRi
(cant slate my corsa though it was my baby:D)
Hi guys;
So here\'s a novice\'s question...
Why, exactly, would a 4" exhaust and no cat make the engine run lean?
I\'m a novice to rotary engines and have not modified many piston engines in the past other than building an 1835CC engine for a VDub I once had...:p
Wouldn\'t the induction side affect the lean/rich running of the engine? unless the exhaust had an O2 sensor removed that would not then provide feedback to the ECU.:(
I ask as my RX7 is coming in from Japan next week and has an aftermarket exhaust (not sure of the exact detail yet) but from the sounds of it I need to be wary of preignition if the exhaust bore gets too big?

Mikee, depending on the year of your car, you can get away with different mods.
Earlier models (before circa 96) only have an 8 bit ECU. This means that after doing say the de-cat and air filter you want to be looking at the ECU, as the standard unit will start to run lean. Its a programing thing.
On the later models (post 96) had a 16 bit ECU, this was better able to deal with a couple of mods (i.e. full de-cat and an air filter).
The fuel system is on say a full exhaust system and air filter with the correct fuelling mods can be ok. Just get it checked on a rolling road if you not sure.
Dan
Thanks for the dteails Fish.
My car is a \'92. Will check the ECU. As the car is ex-japan (who run with a higher octane?) would the ECU not have been a problem in the land of the rising sun?
Best get this checked out then. Hmm thanks for the details.
Mikeee
:D
With these mods would anyone suggest a better ECU, the car is a 92 Effini, its also pre Cat,
HKS hardpipe kit
ARC intercooler and induction Box
Blitz Nur Spec racing exhaust
F-win racing aluminium radiator
Cheers for any help
Unless you are doing anything really crazy to the car I would always recommend the Apex\'i Power FC aftermarket ECU.
It is the most used and therefore most supported replacement ECU for the FD.

Looks good, but I have to say those red wheel center caps look tacky.
i know need to get 18\'s or 19\'s on there.
