before and after shots on my fc housings
can I go any bigger? :Giggle
come on tim, I wanna see some really big ports!
lets see the purple old girls huge ports! get some pics posted mate :evillaugh
tim post the pics of gregs ports :Giggle
I\'ve been told Tim\'s a bit busy at the mo
You can go bigger but those look nice and big already. It depends on what you really want to achieve. The ports you have done already will be more than suitable. Just put a smooth bevel on the edge of the exhaust port, so that apex seal life is prolonged.
brian i want to achieve maximum power, no worrying, just go for it with as much boost as poss with this big boy:-
we are making a stainless plenum with 4 -50mm bore runners going on with 8 injector set up 90mm throttle body and gt45 roller bearing turbo, custom large bore exahust manifold and maybe full 4" exahust with full bridge. 3mm seals and dowelled.
the cfm running through this lot should increase big time im hoping.
piping from turbo to 4" thick ic is no less than 70mm.
ive got another blown 13b block coming to machine up identical for spares just in case it goes pop :3gears-rh
if it makes good power and lasts this season in the fc, then it will rebuilt and go on a frame chasis next year
what power do you reckon we will get?
Out of interest, are you having the housings replated after the porting? (If so where?) And is the chrome cutting nicely and leaving a good finish, or is it bursting?
They look nice and large though :)
no they are both in good nick, I got one of tim and the other ones of std engine.
I didnt want to put new housings in because i dont no what to expect from it.
the engine stands me at a new set of seals and gasket and 1 sec/hand housing so far.
if it pops then it pops!
that engine can be ripped out of an fc in less than 2 hours easy mate.
Build up again and learn a bit more.
my biggest concern is how im going to run it in! cause it aint going on the road
