Title: Spark Plug Question!!!!!!!!!!!
Post by: Rx7Chris on February 27, 2006, 03:22:52 PM
Hi Guys

Just found out my car was flooded so i removed all the spark plugs (god what an ar*e that was) and i realise i\'m now left with 2 7\'s and 2 9\'s and i stupidly can\'t remember where they went.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Chris

The 7\'s are leading: they go at the bottom closest to the ground. Now...I can\'t remember where the other two go... :p

The 9\'s are trailing and go in the remaining two holes! If you take a close look at both types, you\'ll see a little L on the 7\'s for leading, and a little T on the 9\'s for trailing.

good thing to remember is Leading=Lower and Trailing=Top. some people fit 9\'s all round as they say the hotter 7 plugs were only fitted for emissions reasons.  with 9\'s all round you would never get them mixed up anyway.     my 1st FD came with ngk race plugs with 10\'s and 11\'s.    seemed to run ok in the summer but in freezing winter conditions it was easier to flood the engine           eric e

I have 7\'s and 9\'s - originally i had all 9\'s but i was getting flooding problems. Now my engine only needs run for a few seconds, and it still won\'t flood, where before i was getting flooding issues more frequently.

But you are running different heat range plugs in leading and trailing :)
