No it cannot be mapped and the sooner it\'s ditched the better.

They are if it were fitted to a nissan, that\'s what mines specialise in.
On a rx7 it makes them go like stink admittedly but I suspect they run way too much advance atleast for 98 octane fuel anyway as they blow rotary engines rather easily.

Hi John

At the very least I would get your car to a good tuner who can tell you what is going on with the boost levels and fueling before it kills your engine.  Ultimately, I would look to replace it with a mapable (sp?) ecu like Brian said.  Take it easy for now and put good fuel in it.

Regards
Jon

No they are not. They are chipped ecu\'s like the Mines one is.
The re-amemiya ecu atleast is not as agressively ,mapped as the Mines one so should not be any near as dangerous, but is still not ideal. Also you would have to verify with re-amemiya you have the ocrrect ecu for your car as they do different types for different kind of mods etc.
You can send them an email quoting the serial number on the ecu and they will tell you what mods, boost afr it\'s been mapped for.

when i questioned the seller this was his reply,

Originally from Mach speed in Japan. Mapping was
exactly the same as RE Amemiya\'s Redom. I remapped it to fit my FD.
Sorry, I will end auction early because of bidding
price. thanks for your interest.

The mapping is for with cat. I used Knight sports
down pipe and RS-R exhaust. If you want to remove
cat, ECU needs to be remapped. I could do it for
you if you want. thank you for your interest.
 originanal add was,

I am selling FD3S RX7(93\'~95\') JDM chipped ECU.  This ECU works perfect with high performance intake and exhaust system.  original program is from Japanese most famouse RE shop, but fine tuned to fit to my FD.  Idle air screw adjustment may be necessary to compensate rpm droppage.  Boost setting is primary turbine--approx. 7psi, secondary turbine--approx. 13psi.  Horse power would be around 300 depends on your engine condition.  The ecu was in working order when I took it out.  If you are thinking to optimize your stock turbochargers, this ecu is the cheapest choise you can make.. This ecu is also reprogrammable.

Still not cheap if it costs u a motor! If you are going to fit this at least get it checked with a wide band lambda meter. You still could be running dangerously advanced but you have no way of telling apart from stikcing in on the dyno and guessing. Scary stuff, sorry but you are asking for trouble...

i bought it so i can get it mapped on my car,not to just plug and play

Thats the point mate - unless u take the car to japan - you cant get it remapped :(

the ecu i bought off ebay,is fully mappable its coming from the usa and the seller even maps it himself.i have rang a few tuning companys who have told me they can map it no problem, best thing is the ecu only cost me £3.12p so i can splash out on a rolling road setup.

So what brand/model is the ecu? and who in the UK said they could/would map it?

Not trying to make you look like you haven\'t got a clue what your doing, we\'re are just trying to help as some of us have had years of experience working on rotaries, and have a better idea than most what works and what don\'t. If you want to pursue this avenue then all the best with it.
By the way rebuilds are approx £2,500

i appreciate the help, the ecu from the usa has a daughter board witch has a removable eprom chip,i allready have a chip writer and mapping software all i need is a rolling road and a wideband.before i start this are you saying it cannot be done?.im not being foolish, like i said i have done it before but as you say im new to rotary\'s

(should i ever need a rebuild i will be doing it myself)

I think the problem is, a lot of people buy these ecus from Japan and don\'t have the ability to reprogram them (which you obviously do).
Let us know how you get on with it, could be very interesting

should be a couple of weeks,i will take a few photo\'s etc incase anyone wants to have a go  :Giggle .
chip writers are pretty cheap

daughter boards etc are also cheap

Make sure you shoot for quite low/Rich afrs on boost, Rotaries need a richer mix on boost then Piston Engines. And unless you uprate your fuelling system dont run more then 0.8 bar of boost on the stock twin turbos

ecu has arrived and yes it should be a very popular ecu as it is totaly fully mappable  :cool
plugged it into my eprom reader  and the map looked pretty straight forward.so i swapped the ecu\'s over and took it to my m8\'s garage to check a few things out with a wideband. A/F 11.5 at max boost,so a nice rich mixture there.went for a drive on the motorway and i was very pleased the secondry turbo come\'s in sooner and has more boost.i will take some more readings and post them up if anyone is interested.
all in the ecu has cost me £26

:cool

Fair play to ya mate. You\'re the first person I have heard of that has managed to map one of these in the UK.

I guess a good knowledge of processors and boards as well as a good knowledge of cars has got you where you are. Everyone else pays £100\'s for an apexi ecu and maps that, as you can directly access the ecu without boards or chip readers.

I think you deserve a ****ing medal or something.
