Title: Cruise Control
Post by: nikp on February 27, 2006, 01:10:52 PM
Does anyone know how easy it would be to convert an FD to have cruise control? I believe all the electrical cables are there for the switches, etc. Would i just need the switch and actuator? Or is there anything more to it, that would make life a pain in the butt?

(And if it is a simple case: does anyone have the parts! :D)

I have cruise control on my car but don\'t really want it so you can buy the parts from me if they can be taken out without causing problems.  The car is sans engine currently so that might make it easier.

How much would you want for the bits? I\'m only toying with the idea at the moment: i like the idea of gadgets!

Me either! I don\'t even know what bits i\'ll need yet (That was the main question on this thread! :p). Is it just the switch and the actuator!? Gawd, i don\'t know!

Do you have any piccies of your engine bay showing the cruise control stuff?

i think you might find it a little more tricky as well as the control stalk and the actuator there is a control unit somewere a speed sensor of some sort and at least two switches, clutch and brake  pedal. i havent dealt with rx7 but it cant be much different to other cars that age
