Adjust the tickover so it is slightly higher for starters this usually burns a bit more of the idle fuel. not sure what else?

What year is the car?  I take it you have no cats. Do you have a air pump?.
On the pfc if you go into the etc screen, function select and turn off O2 control.
Then go into settings pim then next you will be able to adjust at 1000rpm the % is 100 use the arrows to turn down till the car starts to not be very happy, you may also need to adjust the idle by the throttle screw or the air bleed under the throttle body.

Does it have a CAT still ?

Does it need a CAT test, some import 92 cars don\'t

If not its difficult to pass the MOT, as obviously with no CAT  emissions will be high, there are some things to do that can make it scrape by I believe :)

I got an MOT for mine the other day so it is possible, where abouts are you ?

Im pretty sure that everything needs a test - the age just determines how strict it is?
