Title: Re gassing tail gate struts
Post by: daverey on February 22, 2006, 10:56:12 PM
Is it worth re-gassing tailgate struts. I have a quote of £47 for re-gassing or new at £102.

If they arn\'t strong enough for the boot, you could transfer them to the bonnet and sorce some second hand ones off another mamber for the hatch???

No these prices are per pair from a company called SGS Engineering in Derby.
If re-gassing fails then the price is deducted from the cost of new. I spoke to them this morning about a group buy and depending on numbers I can get a discount of up to 20%. These prices are for an 1982 car not sure on prices for later models.
Jono Its tempting but I am trying to keep the car as original as possible, at the moment.
