help, smell of fuel in the car not all the time mainly when in a high gear and then accelerate. can not get it to do it when revin car on the spot ? i hav removed plenium and bridged fuel pump but no leak? any ideas? would be very helpful thanx
did it not solve it then mate?
no pain the the ass ive sprayed leak detector al over pipes then goin to hav another look on sat maybe runn the car up on a ramp
Don\'t spose you have an exaust leak? I have on mine, and occasionally get a whiff of petrol.
i had a similar problem and it turned out to be the pipe that goes from the inlet manifold to the brake servo, it should have a one way valve in it, and mine had been replaced with a piece of pipe with no valve in. Might be worth a look, it took me ages to finally find what the problem was.
thanks dturpin thats a great help mines also been replaced with no valve ordered one today!! was startin to get to the point of what now!!! many thanks
Glad I could help took me ages to find it too. Was so glad it wasnt anything major!
fitted the servo pipe yesterday ! no more gettin high in the car sorted many thanx
Glad I could help. I was advised to replace the brake servo aswell as it could of got fuel vapour in it, so you might want to get it checked out just incase.
Does it not occur to anyone that a turbo engine has the valve in it for a reason?
that is so that the servo does not receive boost pressure but only vacuum,I strongly reccomend that you put the correct ones on.This tube is there to give assistance to the brakes ,and it works by using vacuum from the inlet manifold, but as on any turbo engine the manifold also gets positive pressure, not just vacuum.Hence the need for the one way valve.
