Title: Exhaust Studs and Nuts Supply?
Post by: db2boy on February 21, 2006, 08:28:30 PM
Well before I could put the RX-2 lump back in I had to get out a badly damaged exhaust stud - the welder acheived that this evening :)

Ive been trying to locate a supply of exhaust studs and nuts to complete the job over the last few days. As good as the interweb is Ive not come up with much apart from a large box of mixed ones - and I dont want this.

Can anyone suggest a supplier of exhaust studs and nuts? Im looking for M10x1.25

Halfords used to stock them. Take one in with you, as they are known to supply the wrong items. ;)

If not give Iain a call at Hayward and Scott in Basildon, Essex. He\'s a good chap who should help you out.

Thanks for the input guys :) Didnt think Halfords did much useful beyond camping equipment! Ill try both of those out. I tried a local fittings specailist - they had everything but automotive hardened bits. Tried to convince me normal studding would do it, until I tried to explain what it was for and how hot it would get :)

The other place might be worht trying is somewhere like slow-fit, sorry I meant Kwik-Fit. The fit exhausts of a kind, and might also carry some spare studs.

Dont make me go to quickfit, please dont :) A good thought though, thanks!

Martin, we have good local fittings shop - no good for you though I guess. Screwfix can be OK depending on what you want and quantity.

Well if I can find the time to get her on the road it would be nice.

Just let me know exactly how many you want and I\'ll pull the studs from some stuffed rotor housings.
The nuts are stainless, and I can get them too.
