Hi
do\'es any one know where i can get a new set of glass lens for my 91 T11? the silver inside mine has disingrated.
Mazda want £150 for the pair. i have seen some halo type advertised on e-bay in the usa but i don\'t think they would be suitable for a rhd car not unless anyone knows different?
Grant
i\'m breaking my FC atm, give me an offer
If FC3Sleo cant help then the Ebay.com is a great help. DOnt go for the angel eye ones though, go for the ones which have uprated bulbs and crystal reflectors. I paid £38 delivered for a pair with bulbs. :)
Thanks FC3Sleo if yours are from a uk car and perfect i would be interested?
Brett
thanks for the info if i can get a pair for the sort of money that would be great. do you remember the name of the company? there is a company on ebay called ixtab imports selling crystal clear Hid headlights sealed beam [ but you can change the bulbs]? thanks again guys Grant
yup, uk car, i\'ll post some pics later when i take them off the car.
leo, when can i collect the bits i had dibs on?
regards
Tony

Hi Brett - when you used these did you have to realign the headlight beams or where a simple drop in job?
Stuart
Just a drop in job, minor adjustment needed come MOT time, but then the car had been sat for 5years at that point so who knows if it was the lights or not!
Brett
Why do you say Dont go for the Halo lights? i sent the company selling these in the usa an e-mail and they replyed that they have sold to the uk and the cars passed the mot OK. they seem to be the same as crystal clear but with an outer ring.
i sent an e-mail to the company selling the crystal clear lights in the UK and they have not responded and as i have never bought from e-bay before i feel that if they can\'t be bothered to reply will they be bothered when they get my money??? Grant
i hate ebay for companies not replying - really annoys me - if you are selling summat - reply to queries
and if it went wrong - would they just ignore you ??
if you do get the halo ones - i need pics of it in the dark :D
will do Grinder, prob. going to order tomorrow not unless i get any neg. feed back
Grant
Tony, sorry for the late reply, you can come pick up the bits anytime mate, theres one thing not available tho, the coilovers, i\'ve only got the fronts atm, the rears are still at the shop where i\'m getting them rebuild, and i haven\'t got any spare money to get them back yet. sorry about this.
get one of those mate.... Looks really good and doesnt cost much.
Had to wait for 2 weeks for them to arrive but it was worth it.

hi youall
ive got the cotton picking lights from the old US of A and i have to agree with Brett that the halo[angle eyes] are not that good, they do not have a bright ring around the outside just a blue hase, :eek however the main lights are much brighter than standard and the white bulbs that came with them are brilliant. :2eek the lot cost £52 inc. p&p and bulbs and came in a week. :Thumbsup!
PS dont buy the eight 4mm lamp retaining screws from Mazda £12 for 8 when i found out the price i got 10 for 25p from the hardware shop :Grrr
Now i can drive all the way to the petrol station at night :driving I once drove past one :flamed
Grant :WaveBye
NB Stu. if you want a pic. i can take one[no problemo] but after i tried the angle eyes, i did not hard wire them in. but the Glass lights look neat.
LoL! I said no to the angel ones \'cos I think they look w*nk :rollin

Sounds cool - did you have to realign the headlight beams? I\'m tempted to change mine but I\'ve tried realigning headlight beam myself in the past and was never happy with the result.
If I\'m going to go ahead and get some I want to know if I need to factor in the cost of a garage to alter the beams.
yes i did re-align the headlights only because the adjusting screws were stuck and i had to free them off. :Grrr
you should not have to re-align if your not a fiddler like me. :Nono!
Ii took my car to the local MOT station and adjusted them myself while the guy checked them on the light thingy [its only 2 screws per light] it took 5mins. and was free of charge. :god
They are def. a big inprovement. :yes
Grant :WaveBye
would love to see night pics just the halo side of it :D
sorry Stu.
i tested the halo bit before fitting to the car and decided it was not worth chopping the wireing up to connect them after seeing what they looked like. :2Confused
To show you the halo side if it i would have to remove from the car and i would rather not now i have them all lined up.
try looking on e-bay uk for mazda RX7 halo lights. their was a site which showed them all lit up :Thumbsup!
if your desperate i can do?
Grant :WaveBye
ps as you i was a bit confused i get big mph but the petrol consumption is rubbish
I am gonna take some pics up tonight and show u what they look like grinder.

Cheers :D
and yes MPG drops with MPH :D
MPG is Inversely proportional to how quickly you attain MPH :D
Ok, whats your loweest MPG then? I think ai managed 5mpg in the EGI when I was going for 0-60 times. (The day i recorded the 5.98sec)
5 miles per gallon.
your lucky
i think i get around 5 gallons per mile driving around Cambridge or should i trying to drive around Cambridge.
there you go. What you think?

yeah it looks good but needs to turn that low light beam off cuz that yellow light with ignition on ruins all the beauty :(

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh they look ok actually - i have some fogs to fit in there..not sure how it will effect brake cooling though ???
I think those fog lights from ebay would be illigal to use as normal fog light so I had to stick it 45 deg up so that the lights itself arent visible and that gives clear channel for the air that cools the brakes.
I have also purchased 10mm yellow and red bulbs to construct new brake and turning lights like they have on new BMWs etc... Cant wait to start working on those. Would look amazing imo. :D
yeah i see your point about the front
would be nice if you could do the rears though
its a nice TII though - you had it long ?
I have had it since September last year so I would say not very long. I am new to rotary world.
Enjoying every minute of it tho. Got it off some australian guy who didnt have time for it for £950.
Everyone in my family hates it tho and say I should sell it and get something that I can afford but I say screw them :)
Grinder, do you know anyone who might be interested in helping me change the clutch on it? I love DIY stuff and so far done all repairs on it myself but feeling changing clutch is a little bit out of my league :)
Art
Headlights look good - you\'ve convinced me and now I\'m going to get some too. The silver backing on my lights are starting to flake so a change was only a matter of time.
Nice car BTW - I always liked that gray colour
dont you even dare mention a clutch to me :(
im going thru the same thing to be honest - i darent do it alone - but i have been offered a 2nd hand one and fitting for £200 - so i might just do that - and i only do 1K a year - so if it does 5 years then thats fine with me
i ( like you ) have done all my own work on the car - its just the clutch - im more worried about it going wrong and it being stuck on the drive :(
a clutch from the states will set you back about £140
in the UK a mazda one is about £255
up-rated ones - you dont really wanna go there - last quote i got from a tuner was something like
£475+vat and delivery+vat
it came to a HUGE figure in the end
and most people in my family hate the FC aswell - its too much to run , it old , buy something better - thing is no one will go in it with me so i can show them how good it is , because " you drive like a looney" - thats my mums only comments on the car !! LOL
QuoteHeadlights look good - you\'ve convinced me and now I\'m going to get some too. The silver backing on my lights are starting to flake so a change was only a matter of time.
Thats the reason why I changed my headlights cuz of silver thingy started to flake and I am sure you gonna like the new ones.
QuoteNice car BTW - I always liked that gray colour
thats wierd. for some reason my GF totally hates it or perhapst its the car not just colour :)
I was thinking of redoing the paint on it and making it 2 tone with yellow( or gold) top and black bottom with black and yellow( or gold) wheels but that will have to wait for a bit.
Grinder:
If I go for a new clutch it would cost around $158 and its already stage 3 soo if u have over 400bhp u should be ok with it. Here is the link for it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/XTD-STAGE-3-RACING-CLUTCH-KIT-86-92-RX7-RX-7-TURBO_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33730QQitemZ8041819889QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
Perhaps we can work on it together?? when I get the clutch it shouldnt be that hard to change it together as long as we figure out a good way of doing it or find a hole to put the car on to take the gearbox off :P
thing is matey - we are over 200 miles apart :(
the clutch is ok - im not running that power - its just the shiping cost to the UK - thats another $100
and i cant get a shipping cost off anyone - i found a clutch - and they just wont give me a price to ship - mailed them about 20 times
so gonna go with a UK one i think :(
dont, I got the shipping price from 2 companies on ebay and both of them said $90 which is a lot better then the price they give in UK.
As for the 200 miles apart... well its not such a big millege tbh... as long as u have facilities to work on the clutch I will be more then happy to come over :)
Art
i wish i had the space and stuff to do a clutch - but i dont - the drive isnt wide enough to walk down both sides of the car
and the front of the drive is on a slope
i have looked at this over and over again - and doing it on the drive is a NO NO ..
so $90 for shipping - so you are at $250 ish ( so thats about £130 - great if you avoid customs ) - then you are looking at £120 + vat for fitting - so its about £280 once you finish
prob is £200 and i can get the job done and 30 warranty... i just dont know what to do to be honest ... first thing is the MOT :D :D
and i only need a stage 1 clutch i think - most the car is running is 240 at the fly - so not massive figures - but at WOT in 3rd - the clutch just doesnt hold up :(
although in 1st you can leave nice black lines down any road - its 3rd like i said at .8 bar - forget it - it really wont hold it
and i need the car ready for RSIII to try and get the 100mph on the 1/4 ... so little time and no funds to do it :(
this would prob do : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda-RX7-Turbo-1-3L-1990-1992-Stage-1-Clutch-Kit_W0QQitemZ8043009586QQcategoryZ33730QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
there is just that many to choose from - and i dont really want a 4 or 6 puc clutch as the car is for street driving and i dont want it toooo hard to use
