Title: One thing after another :(
Post by: rx7-mark on February 16, 2006, 10:14:14 PM
Hi sweeites mrs mark here  :Thumbs-up
Took the rex out tongiht for a run, and had a really good night. On the way home driving along and the car starts to jerk....this was happening in 5th gear doing about 70 and then flooring it... now you know me by now i never really explain myself well, so hold on to ya hats cos here it comes...lol to me it was like either the engine missing or like the turbo kicking out then kicking back in.... :2Rolleyes
I pulled in at asda and turned everything off, left it for about 15 mins, started back up..... and i floored it on the way home and guess what??? perfect, no missing no nothing, what was it a bad bit of air..lol all jorking aside it did scare me, you lot who have answered my crazy messages in the passed no how much i panic about things.
Is it like a warning to me that the engine is getting ready or is it something that will never happen again...
I know i ask alot from you when putting my crazy messages in, but you guys have always helped me loads.....
Im sitting here waiting your replies
Thanks
julie  :King

If the car has an Apexi PFC, has it been mapped?

I had this problem on occassion.  I read it could be one of the plastic intake pipes collapsing when it gets too warm.  I couldn\'t see any evidence of this in the form of stress marks.  It only happened a couple of times, but once I had the PFC put in and mapped, I\'ve never had it since.  I had cold air induction and a de-cat mid pipe on the standard ECU.

I would take a guess that Chris has the right idea. Sounds like a pipe going soft.

Did you get the jerky feeling when you are on BOOST at low rev(<3k rpm)?

I used to have this problem, when ever I\'m on low rev (<3k rpm) and when I try to floor the gas pedal, my car will jerk badly. But this jerk ain\'t happening if my rpm >3k. Solution to my problem is my fuel pump ain\'t operating at 12v. So I just  did the rewire fuel pump mod. Violaaa it solve the problem....
