I recently got about to converting my new rx over to mph and fitted the following item

first one i fitted just seemed to bounce on the speedo needle when driving so i sent it back and got a replacement. Fitted the second one and it worked fine until i disconnected the battery and reconnected it. Now i am back to my favourite bouncing needle again!
any ideas? as i thought it was the first chip i had but now not so sure, could it be the actual speedo? seems to work fine when i put it back to kph!

update: changed the speedo over to another one and it seemed to be working fine.
i was driving along the other day and decided to put the ac on and all of a sudden the needle started jumping around again!?!?!?
when its off the speedo is fine!
any ideas chaps????
