Title: Help Won\'t Start!!!!!
Post by: Rx7Chris on February 14, 2006, 06:56:48 PM
Hi I Have A 1992fd Type R Rx7 Completly Standard And It Wont Start For Some Reason I Went To It The Other Day And Took A Fuse Out To Use In My Girlfriends Car At The Time It Said On The Cover For The Fuses (tel Or Something Like That 20amp Fuse) In The Engine Bay.

Anyway When I Went To Put The Fuse Back In And Start It Today It Just Gave An Almighty Bang And It Hasn\'t Started Since It Still Turns Over But Just Wont Start I Have Checked The Obvious Like Oil And Water And Fuel Things Like That But No Good.

Any Help Would Be Much Appreciated..

What type of bang? Mechanical, electrical etc any smell of burning etc? have you checked for a spark as you\'ve poss blown a coil or ignitor.

I\'m not sure what type of bang just came from the exhaust like ya know a backfire as such but exagerated like 10 times.

No smell of burning and no smell of petrol

Thanks Chris

to check for spark, take a plug lead off the sparkplug, leaving it still connected on the other side. Now put a spark plug in the lead, and make sure the body of the plug is touching metal, probably on the engine somewhere. Now crank the engine, you should see sparks jumping at the sparkplug.
