Title: Help wanted - pulleys...
Post by: Mike on September 25, 2003, 06:03:14 PM
Previously posted on FDUK - I\'m after some help people. I\'m talking to those who have removed their air pump, and have a pulley kit fitted.

Can someone do me a huge favour and measure the diameter of the pulleys fitted - the outside rim diameter of them will do as I\'ve
got the profile from the old ones.

The reason for this, is not that I\'m tight or anything, but I\'m
gonna machine a set up for myself, and then hopefully I can do the same for any of you guys that want them.

Cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike,

There are a few guys on here that should be able to help with this:

Evil Rotor (Ross), Clive, maximumtaylor, etc. - pretty sure these guys have been running various pulley kits etc.

Hi Mike,

This will maybe help , l am using stock pulleys on my car that has no Air pump on so lf you want tomorrow l will sort you the belt No .

Or over the next couple of days l will dig out a pulley kit and measure that for you.

All the best Clive

I am down the workshop tomorrow, so I will get hold of a measuring stick and take some figures for you on the pulley kit I have fitted.

Minus one air pump. ;)

Alternator pulley on mine is 80mm diameter outside edge.

Don\'t have water pump one any longer, but it was 20% bigger than the stock one to cause under drive. Also remember that the air pump removal means using the outside of the belt with less of a bite on the water pump pulley than stock, so you will need a nice knurled finish to help the water pulley grip the belt.
