Title: My Shiny Metal Knob
Post by: stu0x on February 14, 2006, 12:28:02 AM
That got your attention :D

Looking at sticking a sub and decent amp in my FD\'s boot. Popped the spare wheel out, as it seems the most obvious place (no parcel shelf = instant theft if I just leave it visible.

So I was confronted with the below...

Is that metal knob thing in the middle important for anything other than holding the wheel in place? Can I cut it out, or do I need to keep it structurally? I reckon if I chop it out (somehow) I can mount the amp in the well itself, then stick a panel in and mount the sub on top of that, should be just about flush with the current boot carpet.
