sounds interesting ... the ECU is meant to be a bit of a b1tch to work with on the RX8 at the moment as its so new and complicated ... using a motec ecu should sort that out though

NA or turbo ?   Bridgeported exhaust and inlet would be interesting (if it would work ... not sure what that would do to the overlap etc.)

Yeah, a bit of work ahead of us - but if they can put a M800 into a Boxter S tiptronic then it shouldn\'t be too bad.

Engine will stay as is for the moment, turbo or supercharger is the question.

Supercharger will be more straight forward as there is no fiddling to do on the exhaust side (apart from a more free-flowing exhaust).  Turbo will be more complex, as there isn\'t a lot of room - but it is pretty much tried and tested even with higher compression engines.

hey gbutcher, did you pay 67,550 for it? or did u somehow manage to knock some more off that price?

i ordered mine last week... and it arrived a bit over a week later and the dealer had told me jan....   i didnt have the money, he thought i did and ordered it anyway... so yeah, im in a bit of a delemma now, theres a yellow rx8 with cloth interior around ppl

did you know that it cost 60,480 for non leather and 67,550 with leather? and get this, did the dealer tell you he can get the non leather and put in the leather himself for a mere 3500? with life time warranty and he claims it will look exactly the same??

i finally got it out of him when he saw how dissapointed i was cause he couldnt get me my black and yellow interior, and the difference in the sound systems is 3 little tweeters and a larger amp... pfft.. go with non leather it will save you 3 grand if u get leather in later

cheers!

Hi there, just a couple of questions on the 19" wheels.

Do you still run equivelant Bridgestone tyres or other brand?

Do the 19" wheels affect the gearing ie. acceleration, top end, overall ratios, rpm etc?

Cheers,

Ian.

Overall diameter is slightly taller, so more top end I guess (but not much difference) it has Pirelli\'s on it.

From what I have been told between the wheel/tyre and suspension kit (slightly lower than factory) it has transformed the car - it actually rides better now also.

Cheers - sounds good. I almost had mine lowered by local Mazda dealer using Mazda\'s own shorter springs - decided too many speed bumps around these days!

You\'ll be having REWorks fit the turbo next so as to pull the slightly taller gearing eh? Mine hits the red ok in 5th but often doesn\'t want to play much more when into 6th.

My 8\'s off to Mazda this Tuesday for a check over, using/losing coolant some where and power loss every now and again at high err... speed - has been for months - I mentioned these probs in threads ages back.

Nice wheels mate.

Ian.

Hi Ian,

Cars actually in Oz.

Turbo would be nice :)

Mine went back to Mazda recently with around 10 problems - couple of major ones, but hopefully they are sorting it all.

Keep us posted on the outcome.

Oops! Sorry Glenn - flippin\' internet - thought you were in the UK.

I certainly will post any developments on my 8\'s problems. I just hope the mazda mechanics are upto the job. Need to get the water useage sorted - hoping they find something minor such as a weeping hose etc. Don\'t hold out much hope of them solving the power loss, but you never know.................

Ian.
