Title: Help
Post by: oddball on February 11, 2006, 10:21:45 PM
When I left work tonight I found some B------ had smashed my near side door window and had opened the glove box to see what they could steal.  My FD is insured with aon.  Does anyone Know of an approved window replacement company that I can use to replace this glass.  I have tried the insurance nuber but they are not there until Monday morning.

Sorry to hear this has happened

Unfortunatly I am sure you will find any screen company will have to order in the glass from Mazda and then the Mazda dealer will have to order in taking another couple of days, so I don\'t think it will differ what company you use.

Alternatively maybe you can get a glass from somebody here on the forum who is breaking a car as I think this will be your fastest way of getting your car sorted.

Hi mate,
Happened to me a year or so ago.
The main thing is to get some water-proofing!
I\'m with Admiral..not that good, but ALL insurance companies will tell you the most local garage who can fit a temporary perspex "window".
I\'ve kept it for the future :(
So don\'t panic, get this done, then order the window, which for me took 4-6 weeks....Once the perspex in place, the anger/worries quickly diminish.

Thanks Pete.  Full of anger at the moment.  My wife had her car stolen a week last tuesday and as it happens we had a call from the Police this morning to say it had been found.  I spent all morning making the arraingements to recover it  and take it to a garage for the repairs, then returned to work only to find this happened when leaving work.  Don\'t want another day like this.
