Title: Spark Plug question
Post by: Thud on February 11, 2006, 01:34:52 PM
Hi guys

I just changed the sparks on my 91 T2 cab today with BUR7EQP leading and BUR9EQP trailing. When I removed the current plugs they were in decent shape but the previous owner has put BUR9EQP in BOTH leading and trailing.

Am I likley to see any difference in fuel consumption/performance? Or is the difference between 7 and 9s in the leading so small it\'s not noticeable?

Actually, I just noticed that a light misfire I was having at idle has now gone since I changed the plugs. I wonder if this was because I now have the correct plugs or just newer ones. I wonder????

A lot of people run 9\'s leading and trailing without problems. I doubt that you will see much if any difference in MPG, but you it should start a little easier.

A very slight less chance of flooding, I think thats all. Actually I am going to put 9s and 8s in the FD.
