Title: FD on Ebay...
Post by: alban1973 on February 11, 2006, 01:22:49 PM
Just trying to decide whether to ad an FD to my collection...???   I have been looking on ebay as I seem to buy all my motor vehicles there,  I do not want to spend a fortune other wise I will have to sell something else.  I have just seen this example   item number  "4611171406"   I hate the rear exhaust, dont mind the interior of the exterior colour, and it has a sensible spoiler on.   But.........  can you tell me if the the listing sounds.  umm well true.  I dont care for the 0-60 figure. I\'m sure that is made up dont care if it need work doing on it, but what about the rest. does it sound plauseable.. and worth a go at obviously the lowest price.... thanks for any info or advise on this model................ :cool

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4611171406&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Fcgiurl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%252Fws%252F%26fkr%3D1%26from%3DR8%26satitle%3D4611171406%26category0%3D%26fvi%3D1

should make life easier !!

sounds OK though - and 300 bhp - ooohhh fast !

the 0-60 could be nearly right with that power

ask who did the rebuild first though :D

The sideskirts are mazda optional and the exhaust is not a dragger but may be another hks version. Also be very carefull running 1 bar boost with the re amemiya ecu if there is no cat as it will not last too long. 300hp flywheel is easily achievable with the mods listed at 1 bar, maybe more if the engine still has good compression as stated. The red panels and seats are optional on the touring x model but the black leather sections have been custom added. ;)

thanks for that, I have just returned from Manchester, The listing has ended now but i did have a reply from the owner, as follows...

I have no dyno sheet but I also own a subaru impreza and its running 280bhp, the rx7 is easily 300bhp compared to that. There is service history, but no proof of engine rebuild, I could get a compression test done to prove that is running good compression, I hope that this is ok for you, this car is my pride and joy .

I may  email him back for a chat, but what is one of these realistically worth without any proof of an engine rebuild but say with good compression??  any ideas. I do not want to insult the man with a derogatory offer.

not sure if that link will work.  The only thing is that it does not have leather..  But I do like the wheels :god

Thanks for that Grinder...  i emailed the one from yesterday, but at present no reply, I did notice someone had bid at the last minute, so they may have already done a deal.  I have just found that one you mentioned, there is also a slightly modified one in red with the same wheels i will see if that is still available, and depending on the extent of the damage..maybe worth a look,  but then I thought maybe I should get an XJR..  decitions decitions.....
