Title: Need advice, please read!

hi all,

I\'m looking into getting some insurance for another car, and have started to notice all the companies ask something along the lines of \'have you ever been refused insurance or offered special terms?\' or somethig like that.

Now the problem is when i crashed my rex the company cancelled the policy and didnt pay out due to undeclared mods, they said as far as they are concerned the policy is null and void and was never in effect.
Now can I scratch that one off my record happily or should i mention it to any new insurers? I really dont want to get screwed for it down the road, does anyone know where i stand? I also dont want to mention it when i dont have to and get lumped with a massive premium.

its poss they have listed u for undeclared mods..the ins companys do share info.from their point of view by not declaring the mods on the last car that can be classed as fraud..now they were very happy to avoid a payout and not take it further..u are going to have to bite the bullett and explain what happened and hope they dont take a dim view of not declaring all ur mods...in short yes u do have to tell them about having the policy cancelled or u do really risk becoming a blacklisted driver...most people have taken a chance with mods but it really isnt worth it as they will just null the policy for non disclosure and if involved with another car u could end up with a huge bill

Well i went to look at Bretts Toyota soarer (which is stupidly fast) but decided it against it due to running costs.
It did have every gizmo going though, and after 15 years they all still worked perfectly! (electric everything, computer controlled seatbelts, auto headlights, heat sensors, lcd rearview mirror, 13 speaker stereo and the best thing, ultra-sonic wingmirrors!)

Now dont laugh but i\'m actually going to buy an MGF from a friend of mine because it is cheap as chips and I stand to make some cash by tidying it up and selling on. And guess what that cash is going towards..... :)
Fingers crossed I\'ll be an FD owner again in the next few months.
