The handset just looks so messy just hanging on the dash, so decided to make a panel for it, as ive seen it before and liked it,the worst bit in taking it apart was splitting the circuit boards which are soldered together, a delicate task as the boards are plated right through, soldered on twenty wires fingers crossed bingo worked first time.

Blinkin\' eck! Brave man!

Not really to my taste though, but i know what you mean about having it look ugly sat on the dash!

I like that, looks FAR better than the crap looks apexi came up with. The commander looks like something you\'d find a traffic warden holiding.

Yup i did have a spare 5 minutes after the dog took me for a walk.
Not fitted the other filter yet, as ive not come to a conclusion about how effective the K&N is yet.

Hi Hamc,

nice job mate. I have this lying around, and I also have a spare commander. Would you be willing to do the job of moving the parts over :) At a fee of course! If so, just let me know how much!

Cheers

Now thats how i wanted to do mine, but this was a trial so will be making up a panel like yours looks much better without the half panel on the front like mine.
Yes i would do another one but! its a delicate job and could go wrong so would be at your risk.

I don\'t mind taking the risk, I bought an FD didn\'t I! ;) Seriously though, I can send them over to you, and perhaps you could even get some ideas from my one. Let me know when you would have any spare time. No rush for me mate.

Found the panel a while back on eBay USA. It\'s made of metal and the workmanship seems very good, it even came witht he screws. Some people have suggested it could be a bit neck-achy trying to tune with it, but I guess with a Datalogit it should not be a problem. I reckon it would tidy up my setup loads!

Spare commander is for the 92-96 PFCs, ref X001.
