Title: Complete Single Turbo Kit - £500
Post by: davegttph1 on February 07, 2006, 08:43:25 PM
Opinions please? apart from the dodgy looking no feedback thing and no location (wouldnt buy it unless I could collect for that reason alone) but if this isnt a scam what do you think? What do you think I might need ontop.

I think you need to be carefull with that one. I should email and arrange to view before bidding or if he\'s a distance off someone on here will live locally to him when you track down his location. Considering what a Trail wastegate costs alone i can\'t see how he can list it at that price. But if its legit there\'s a lot of kit for the money, you\'ll just need to source a intercooler, fuel pump, new clutch, injectors and fuel pump to go with it.

If that ain\'t a scam I\'ll eat my own guts! I bet those pics have been lifted off a forum somewhere. E-mail him to arrange a collection and see what he says!

Wouldn\'t touch it would a barge pole. Why are some of the images repeated and why does it have the american kitchen feel about it. Just tried to see is the photos where robbed off rx7club, but no luck !

Plus Private auction and new member, 0 feedback.

Scam, Scam, Scam, Scam

I think its about time people start watermarking their images to stop crap like this.

Told you it felt wrong, thats a yank socket. Anybody going to ask him why he doesn\'t have uk plug sockets  :Hammer

I can undstand what you mean kev, but hell a full setup like that is worth at least 2k on ebay alone. You got your turbo on its own, no sundries. Probably not many people knew what to do with a turbo that big  :driving

Just how much would that cost at retail, the tial alone is about 300 quid if not more.

Can\'t be for real, he even painted his walls pick to hide his location. :wiggle

Dave spotted the socket and with that chair it could be outer Mongolia !

Seriously if its too good to be true it normally is, to me the guy should have done his homework and priced it a bit more realistically !!

Dave, send him a pm to see if you can go round and have a look at it, see if he still says he is in Moray ! Would prove if hes just making sure its too far away for potential customers ! Don\'t mention anything about where you live or what has been said here though.

Has to be a scam, as said its about time we all had photos watermarked to stop people like this.

Hi Dave,

Just looked again and realised this is not a £500 Turbo as the guy is looking for more.

Would any of our members north of the boarder go and look for you as it would be worth sporting £50 on some ones fuel to make sure its O/K ?

Lets say this is for real then and you got it for say £700, be warned that personally I think the bum\'s too small at .84.

Never mind the instant response talk fitting a Turbo this small Rotary\'s need a big bum Turbo to scavenge out the exhaust gases over a piston engine otherwise you leave a hot mixture inside and start super heating things.

How do I know  this well a few years ago I blew an engine by having too small a bum Turbo which resulted  in the tips expanding and touching a side plate and a tip chipping !

If you got this Kit for your £700 it would still be viable to throw the Turbo and buy a good GT35 to bolt on as the rest does not look that bad ( not that good but not bad)

Lastly if the guy is all O/K ask if the kit came in from the States as if it did it won\'t fit your car anyway due to a lump of steering being in the way.

Hope this helps.

The trouble is that somebody has now bid on it. Surely the reason why they have made it a private auction is to stop other people from telling them its likely a scam.

Just cant be true !!!

Hi guy\'s

I\'ve just bought this setup from the us .the seller has sold a few over here and has not had any bad feedback. I was wondering if you could elaborate on what actually does not fit a uk fd?

what i want to know is have i bought a lemon and should i resell the whole lot or can it be fitted?

It doesn\'t fit properly as the US cars are left hand drive and is set up to fit round the steering box, not sure if it can be adapted.
