Title: pcd database? what has 92mm
Post by: travellinbob on February 07, 2006, 05:38:18 PM
Hi all, right pee-d off now. I finally get the news from the engineer that he has sent my hubs and new spacers and am totally hyped for upcoming work on car. So I get some stuff together at the workshop and lay out my new vented discs and fd calipers to see if they will fit inside a 13 inch diameter wheel. Well they do, just but then noticed that the pcd on  the discs were not the same as the wheel and they SHOULD be!  So I am using a ford stud pattern, which is IIRC 108mm, and what I have is about 92mm??? anyone know what it is. Or know of a website i can scrounge around on to find out?
cheers and thanks. I am really glad I finally sent off the money for my membership today as It is times lik these that this site and open minded club are invaluable. ( slack ar££ed bugger should have done it years ago  :Nono!  :spank )

as far as I can find out ... nothing has a PCD of 92mm :(

the 92mm will be where they bolted to the capri hub IIRC my Ford Biology from when I was kit car building.

dammit thats not how I remember a MK2 strut looking. the ones I remember had bolts on the inside that had to be done up and locked ... I had some locking tabs made aaaaaaaages ago to do the job (sold them on ebay years ago otherwise you could have had some)

So a ford has a 108mmpcd, ( which is the measurement across the centreline of the disc/hub to the centre of the holes) Is this the way to measure? Anyway I have a set of 13"x10" revolutions I was dreaming about sitting under the bum of the moggy and they dont line up with them. Also I am sure that the mkII hubs I took apart for this brake conversion also had locking tabs.Damn it,.... it was like 6 months ago sonce I even saw my hubs!!!!! cheers for the help mike.

yes, ford is 4x108mm and for a 4 stud hub the way you are measuring is the correct way.

I reckon the 92mm is just the bolt pattern for the discs. The stud pattern for the wheels should still be 108mm  (the hub has 4 tapped holes in the back face for the disc and 4 studs in the front for the wheel)

Aaaaaaaaaaghhhhhh damn I is thick. Thick er than 2 short thick things. Mike your photo out of the haynes manual explains all. I am almost definately measuring where the disc bolts to the hub. I keep on thinking that the disc sits on the outside of the hub and mates to the wheel. Its all ok and i can stop stressing and start banging head on wall as thicko punishment.
Just so excited that project moggy is almost started. Anything that slows me down now is my mortal enemy!
Mike, def owe you a beer or six.

no worries I\'m glad to have helped.

I\'m having a look round to see if I can find any of those locking tabs too.
