Title: motor swop
Post by: tonyafrica on February 06, 2006, 04:05:00 PM
Hi there
I have a 92 fd with a twin turbo motor thats dead.Available down here is a 20 b and or a 13 b single turbo 2nd gen motor. My question is will the 2nd gen motor be useable as a base for a buildover of manifold, turbos etc and will it fit or should I just rob a bank and try make the 20 b fit
Any advise would be appreciated.

the fc engine won\'t fit easily as the engine mounts off the middle plate, not the rear plate loke the fd. 20b conversion ask a few people on the forum approx how much they think it will cost them in the end. Might need to be more than one bank. Why not have a go at rebuilding it?

Simple answer - rob the bank!!!

It\'s a huge job though and there\'s a lot of custom fabrication needed to make it work properly.  Someone doing it for the first time will go down a lot of dead-ends before getting it right.
