I installed my new Apexi Power FC and commander today. When I ran through the initial setup procedure of letting it idle for 10 mins, turning on the rear heater then the air con etc., the car was running really rough all the way through and idling at about 2.5K rpm and no lower, it never really settled down.
Is this because the air/fuel mixture is way out or what?
I do have some minor mods, like de-catted blitz exhaust, mild port and blitz induction kit.
Any ideas please?
Incidentally out of interest the rpm on the power commander was showing about 600 - 1000 less than the one on the dash, is the dash one normally so far out?
Thanks.
Try re- initialising the ecu and starting again. You can do this with the commander.
Hi Shez,
Try doing as Max says, here are the full Apexi instructions to help you
http://www.apexi-usa.com/pdfInstallation/12.pdf
I initialised the Power FC back to its default settings, this time it seemed to be going ok, it was idling at about 1400 rpm for 3 minutes then it went up to 2500 and stayed there again.
Forgot to mention that I have 850cc injectors, could that make the difference?
I think I\'ll take it to Pip at WGT to get everything mapped properly.
Thanks for the replies anyway guys.
Do you have 850 Primaries as well as secondaries?
If so you have found the problem as you need to tell the ECU what injectors you are using for the primaries
enter these values ( From Dragon)
Lag -2
Factor 64.5
The 850\'s should now act as 550 stocks.
Jon
Think you\'ll find that lag number should be -0.2 and not -2 Jon_birmingham ;)
Be careful though, this will lean out a large chunk of the fuel map, not just idle. Best get Pip to do it all for you :)
Thanks for the suggestions.
I think I will leave it to Pip - don\'t want to risk running lean.
That is if he ever replies to my email....
