a friend of mine has been offered this fd in part ex against his elise, does anyone know anything about it?

Pretty sure its not a members car, and yes I know it is very \'interestingly\' styled, not my cup of tea, does anyone know the owner?
Just doing my homework really in case my friend wants to take a look at it, as you can see there is not a lot of info on the ebay page.
And no this isn\'t one of those \'my friend\' stories that is actually about me!! :Hammer

Have seen this car in the flesh and its a very nice modded rx7, not everyones cup of tea but a good professional job on the car.
The chap selling is very approachable and is more active on FDUK than on here, this car was at last years brooklands meet if you check the pics from the meet there are quite a few of this car.
If your mate wants to have a look around it then i would deffo recommend a viewing as the colour is actually reall cool close up when the sun is out !!!

He also said it was rebuilt at Jap village in horsham, never heard of this place, anybody know of it?
The guy bought it since the rebuild so maybe a different owner to the one you are talking about gurj?
It was actually a cover feature car in Banzai (June 2005). Look very nice indeed. I think the owner was active on ultimatejapcars.co.uk too...... The car may have switched owners

I met the guy who used to own this car - Metallic Orange with a lime flip - pretty unique! Think his name is Andy so not the seller. I know Andy was after an Elise to mod though but thought he\'d sold this on a while back.

Anyone want to suggest a part ex price for this, he has been trying to sell for a long time, we were thinking a book £11,000 elise swap for the rx plus £3,000? makes his worth 8 large, thats pretty generous, it is a basically stock engine under all that fibreglass!
I think the engine was more or less a stock setup, the car was more of a show car than a fast show car if you know what i mean.
I think from others replies the car must have been sold on to someone else as the previous owner was a sound guy and knew the ins and outs of the rx.

I saw this at brooklands last year, wasnt overly impressed tbh, headlight was cracked and the car generally needed tidying up.
I think his name was Andy Forrest MOD??

Jap Village in Horsham went tits up ages ago. AFAIK they sent there rotaries to rx-heaven to be rebuilt (no comment)

I saw the car at the last Jap fest in castle coomb, from a distance it looked stunning, but as said above there is a bit of tidying up to be done!!
If you look closely at the front wings, they are BENT!!!!! and it\'s exactly the same the other side, crack in head lamp cover, a few cracks in the paint, rear lights have been doctord to look like 99 lights (not a very neat job!!) and the engine was stock when I saw it!!
cheers guys, it would be sold straight on anyway, as my friend is trying to get some money together to buy a porsche (i dont know why either) so I think this one is definately a no-no. Rex\'s dont exactly have a consistent resale value either...

yeah was sub cultures from FDUK , here and on UJC.
He sold it for an elise , got rid of that and now has a TT Supra
that car has been on ebay for ages. to be honest i dont see it selling for a while yet as it\'s a bit too customised for everyones taste and not priced competitively.
