Title: Advice please.....
Post by: will2j on January 28, 2006, 10:27:38 PM
I\'m in the process of building a 350rwhp FDS3 and I\'m after your input on the last few bit\'s of the upgrade. She already has:

Blitz Induction Filters
Efini Y Pipe
Down Pipe
PWR Performance Rad
Cat Back Zaust
Apexi PFC
Apexi AVC-R

She made 271rwhp (330fwhp) @ 6200rpm with 255lbs of tourque. Now I\'ve been scouting round a few websites and forums to check out other 350rwhp setup\'s and it seems that there are several ways to get that kind of power. What I would like your input on is my choice of parts to get the extra 80bhp to get to my target figure. I have had a chat with Geff @ RE:Worx as that is where I got my mapping and rad from, he suggested getting:

Cat Replacement
850cc Primary Injectors
Plugs & Leads
Uprated Fuel Pump (if required)

Now my first question is;
Do you guy\'s think I can hit my target with just those mod\'s?
What kind of price should I be looking at for the above items?

Your advice will be greatly appreciated as I am fairly new to Rex\'s and want the best for my beast!

Cheers

Will

I would go with going single turbo.

I thought that you had to decatt to get extra power, so interesting that Geoff  says Cat replacement, did he say that it should be \'high flow\' cat or just a new one?
cheers Bob

Really no point in going single turbo as the cost involved is well out of my price range. I only have an overall budget of around £2k and I\'ve spent £1k of that already!  :D

Decat is what I ment. Sorry to cause any confusion!  :Hammer

The only other option would be to find a set of the newer twin packs and running high(er) boost. They will flow more air, or you might just want to lower your target figure.

That\'s what I thought but most have said it won\'t be required. If thats the case then I\'ll have to look at a 2nd hand SMIC or a cheaper new one.

Anyone here got one for sale? lol

I got to where I am today with my BHP by listening to Geff and doing everything in the order that he suggested. The expence that is involved is not wasted as everything you do to get better and safe bhp from twins is also a preperation for going single. You have set yourself a realistic target. But be warned you will want more so be prepared to go over budget. You have been warned. If you want I can pm you my spec. HTH. :wiggle
