the most common swap is the ls1 chevy/t56 6 speed swap..look on hinsonsupercars.com/ls1tech.com/ls1.com poss to get 10.8 1/4 mile times with little or no tuning..if a was handy with a spanner wld do this combo

What about a Rover V8? Cheap, light as a feather & you can get some big numbers out of em. The later engines had cross-bolted blocks too.

Will that fit in that wee hole under the bonnet? lol..dont suppose you know of a rover v8 tuning site?

what years got the cross bolted block n what is it :P

Just took the measurements of a skyline gtst type m, subaru wrx n silvia 200sx turbo engines, none of them are close of fitting,.. would have liked to stay with a turbo but aint gunna happen :(

Maybe a mr2?

Rpi are pretty handy when it comes to the Rover: http://www.v8engines.com/

If an LS1 fits, then a rover certainly will. Might have to find some clever manifolds for it though. I belive the 4.0 and 4.6 engines introduced in the p38 range rover were cross-bolted, all that means is the main bearing caps also have bolts coming through the side of the block aswell. Would come in handy if you decided to turbocharge it, save you using a block girdle.
