my engine is apart and ive found that the front rotor seems to be in good order except for these stripes on the one gear side, what would be the most likely cause of this as there is no obvious damage to the front housing.

also my rear one appears shagged but i think this is due to here being a fairly large mark on the rear housing

how much is likely to cost for replacements?
at the moment i think i\'m now down to one good housing and an eccentric shaft which isnt really the start i wanted
What you throw away I will collect free of charge.......... :D
Hi Dean,
The rotors do need checking properly,as does everything else.
If you bring them to me I will happily have a good look over everything for you free of charge.
Ask Kriss(Asp),I looked over all of his parts for him.
Regard\'s
Carl
The stripes are from a grinder, not the engine running.

Carl
i thought they looked a bit strange, many thanks for the offer carl, kriss said you checked over his bits for him.
i will finish cleaning everything up and give you a call. :D
That\'s a top service carl - offering to check over the parts for free!
yeah nice one carl :King :yes TOP BLOKE!!
I think it is great that people like Dean are having a go at their own rebuild.
I would rather try to help than see someone come a cropper. It just makes no sense to me to abandon people when they need help.
The whole rotary scene benefits from lots of good rotary engines running around as opposed to everyone having problems.
That is my philosophy anyway!Hence my signature.

Fantastic attitude there carl! When my engine lets go, i plan on doing my own rebuild too - I guess I\'ll be on the phone to you when that happens then! :)
Would the grinder marks be from the factory or a rebuild??? I have seen these marks on motors I have stripped but always thought a factory finish?
cheers, michael.
Some have marks from the factory.

Carl
