i bet there is lots of fuel pressure.  i will be careful.  the reason for the fuel filter change is that idle is a little uneven, and the car feels hesitant, and sometimes it pulls hard. i hope the fuel filter cures it.

There is fuel pressure in there! You have to release that pressure before you remove the filter otherwise its going to spray everywhere! There\'s a guide how to do that somewhere - probably in the link above.

DO NOT remove the filter without releasing fuel pressure!!!

i had the car on a ramp today.  the fuel filter is so so hard to get to.  i think i will get some new fuel hose, and relocate the filter.  can the fuel pressure be released by opening the petrol cap?

to release fuel pressure run the car then go into the engine bay and yank out the main relay just up from the battery, cant remember what it has wirtten on it. the car will run a few secs then die out leaving the fuel line pressure-less, but just be carefula as there\'s always a dribble looking to finds its way into your eye or mouth........yes people fuel i\'m talking about!!!!!!! :chat

I stuck my spare fuel filter in the car and when it was down at rewox I eployed the old "while you there" technic and got chris to change it while he was doing the clutch.
