Title: rollcages worth?
Post by: anthony on January 22, 2006, 05:42:24 PM
hi, i got a roll cage in my 92 FD and ive decided to take it out as the insurance is extra with it in and if i sell this i can put it towards a fc commander :)

its a full roll cage which bolts to the floor (drill 4  holes each side) it then has posts which connect to the rear suspension turrets, its all well constructed.. have got pics but the pc with flash card reader is missing a cable so will hopefully have pics tomorrow.

but if anyone can give an estimate as to what you think its worth as ive only seen one for sale before at about £500

it looks pritty full to me as i dont really know where youd put any more supports

behind the front seats it has a bar going across the roof and down to points in the floor behind each of the seats, it then has a long piece in between these 2 at the bottom (so if u sat in the back ud have to put your legs over the bar, when sitting down), so theres one support at top and one at bottom.
then on the rear suspension turrets you have 2 supports on the passenger side, one going straight and one going across.. on the drivers side you have one support going straight..
dunno where you\'d put any more support in (or need anymore) i guess down the sides of the seats, but u\'d then need to mod the doors or seats  or something to get the bars to pass.

should have pics up tonight.
maybe ill just stick it in for sale section and ask for offers for a few weeks and see what it yields.
but keep quotes coming. thanks

Supports all the way to the front of the car, generally going through the dash board would be classed as a full cage, maybe even including door bars.

So sounds like you just have a half cage.

mccarthy you still interested in it?
tinker wanted it but now realises has modded his seat rails so it hits the rear seats so he cant actually get the roll cage in, as he always has it to the back.
