Hi there
Getting my car ready for a years driving, bought it last sept a 1992 FD with 58k kilometers on clock, looked like new both body work, dry engine no problems whatsoever.
Did all the usual stuff you have time for over xmas like complete coolant flush, new oil/filter, fuel filter and general good clean up. Car hasnt moved in about a month so out last night and took her from garage about 10-12 miles and then parked her up this morn so i could get everything sorted for the MOT before i register her.
OIn unscrewing the oil cap I noticed there was a slight white/creamy build up on the cap - head gasket instant worries on standard car but does this mean my water seals have died on the FD??? Seems weird that they\'re fine then all of a sudden gone, the mileage seems to low for it to happen so has anyone else any ideas???
Also put my radio in last night and it sounds like my car is infested by crickets!!! Is my supressor or something gone as speakers are all going mad even when radio is off!!!!!
Finger nails are dissappearing rapidly today!!!
If its been left for a while with out starting, especially in this damp weather you may see a oil/water build up, I dont think you have anything to worry about, if she starts from cold & hot I would not worry at all.
Proably got Jap radio, cant comment
I had the same thing at the start of the winter with the creamy gunk, car wasn\'t loosing any water and all looked OK. I then did exacty what you did an put a post up asking the same question!! everyone who replied said it was just a winter Rotary thing and not to worry about it!!!
Jono
that fduk for that!!!
can\'t afford to buy my dog a bone let alone a rebuild!!! Was doing some searches myself there and seems to be a common problem!!! More oil to change now, but as long as she\'s running sweet for the end of may for a visit to rotorstock i\'ll be happy!!!
Will move my radio question to the ICE section, its annoying my heed now!!!
Cheers 4 the info guys :Thumbsup!
