Title: another fd with probs
Post by: arrouk on January 21, 2006, 10:14:16 AM
i have an intermittent fault on my fd, its my 2nd tubby, some times i get .7-.5-.7 some times i get .7-.5-.5ish some times i get .7-.5-.2 which is really upsetting but what started getting me worried was when after the change over my boost started pulsing between .2 and .5.

if i throttle off and reapply there are no probs and i get solid boost (if only .5bar)

other than this the car runs mint just run in after rebuild new plugs oil ect, i have a cat back air filters and a slightly larger inter-cooler, i also have an ecu but i have no idea what it is, can any one point me in the right direction to sort this out.  i think it may be a vac hose thing and i don\'t want to start with that if i don\'t have to but say la ve.

Problem is no one is going to pin point your problem, although it does sound like vaccum problem, but you wont know till after changing.

Sounds identical to a problem i had with my old FD, in the end it was taken to rotechnics who found which vac hose was causing problems.

Hi Matt,

You say its just run in so I would presume that it is  only recently that you have pushed the car to show this problem.

If so I would think about taking the car back to whoever built the engine as it could be an install problem.

If all is O/K from your description I would look for a problem with a sticking solenoid or perhaps the actuator on the second Turbo is "bleeding" back, I don\'t believe you have a vacuum problem as you wouldn\'t get onto the second Turbo at all unless its a kinked pipe thats moving about.

I have similar problems to this I\'m going to change all the vacuum hoses as I know there all hard and britte before trying to diagnose the problem.
