I have an Eclipse headunit (CD & MD) and a Panasonic CD changer (see atttached picture) : these came with the car.
I cannot engage the CD changed though :( . It has power, as I can hear it reading the CD cartridge, and there is a bundle of wires running away from it.
I have no idea how to play CD\'s from the changer though. There is no \'source\' button on the head unit, just radio, CD and MD.
Does anyone have any experience with these products or any idea how I can play CD\'s form the changer?
thanks
Chris.
You may find the changer is running through the radio input... Try putting on a song from a CD you know and scanning the radio channels - if it is that, there should be a second controller somewhere...
But I\'d try sticking a cd in the changer and scanning for it on the radio.

p.s. have you got a model number for the changer and headunit?
Sorry, I don\'t have the model #\'s handy. :(
I\'ll try the radio scanning though and report my findings.
thanks.
and where did u get the carbon fibre dash pieces from?? :D
It has occurred to me, scanning the frequencies is fine, but how do I initiate playing of a CD from the changer? Surely it wouldn\'t just play all the time?
Aside : -
Carbon fibre dash piece was in the car when bought from Japan :) Sorry I don\'t know any more details :(
hence the "if it is that, there should be a second controller somewhere..." bit...:D
have you a version number or anything yet??
Bugger, if there is a second controller, then I have not been made aware of it :(
Sorry, I don\'t have any documentation for the head unit etc, and it doesn\'t have a model number on it :(
I\'ve sent an email to Eclipse North America to see if they can identify it and offer any advice.
Thanks
2 things:
1 - I think you might find it\'s a pioneer changer (the word pioneer printed on the cd carrier kinda makes me think this)
2 - This Link (http://att.dealtime.com/xPF-Pioneer_CDX_FM1279) shows a similar model to your one, and this is run through the stereo using an FM modulator. As you can just make out in the picture there is a seperate controller for the changer.
If this isn\'t in the car, you may have to get one from pioneer uk, or something...
Hope that helps
OJ
Yep, it\'s a pioneer changer :) I\'ll confirm the model over the weekend then it looks like I will definetly need to buy a new display/controller, hope they\'re not too expensive - bah who am I kidding!
Thanks for the help and info, it certainly pointed me in the right direction. :)
Thanks again!
