Title: My Mazdaspeed GT-C 2000 model FD RX7 from SYDNEY, Australia
Post by: D CUPS on January 18, 2006, 11:39:01 PM
Hey dudes!

My first time here in this forums, glad I found it. Anyway, last week I just received my newly imported 2000 model Mazdaspeed RX7 (2+2 seater) from Nagoya, Japan.

Just got it finally last week, couldnt take photo\'s because the crappy weather. Just to let you know that I got it exactly how it looks in the photos (15/01/06). I havent done anything to it or modified it YET! hehe....
It came fully kitted with a Genuine Mazdaspeed Type GT-Concept (Touring kit),
(http://usera.imagecave.com/djchesta/untitled1.jpg)

Front, side skirts and rear wing, the rear hasnt been modded..they\'ve badged it with a Mazdaspeed logo..Unique and only few in Australia, mostly imported. Also has lightweight racing Cored Cavity Technology (model T6) japanese wheels >note: their just 17inches, they will be replaced.

And Finally comes with a full Mazdaspeed Coilover racing setup, worth $3000...(anyone know where I can get the key/adjuster for it? didnt come with the car)

Blowing out the power at the rear is a Trust exhaust system. The engine hasnt been touched YET! hehe really clean and soo stock standard, but mannn comparing the power of my RX7 to my ex-MR2, boy this RX7 Hauls asss! Its definetly got more power than my modified MR2 and cant wait to get more out of it.
My Old MR2 from Japan

Go the rotors!

I have plans for it, but it may not be finished until the end of the year OR even maybe next year as I have another baby boy due in april on the way.
Im staying JDM style, more power to the motor, and putting 20inch deep dish Gold Volk GTC\'s....thats about it for now.

Amazing looking car. Id rethink the new wheels though, think they might look a bit big and spoil the amazing look of the car. JMO.
Look forward to seeing any engine mods you do.

Welcome to MRC and thanks for the great pictures.

Couple of things, ask a Tein dealer for C spanners as these will fit your car if you have conventional slotted adjustable rings, alternatively you should be able to buy C spanners from a good tool store.

p.s. if you fit 20\'s yes it will look good but you will absolutely screw your handling, anything bigger in diameter than 17\'s on these cars is detrimental to it\'s geometry.

Comes down to whatever floats yer boat  :D

hey dudes!!

thanks all!....great to be here, took my a while to flick through the various threads and read and learn about the rotor. Great to know. Still more to go!..hehe..

Might re-think about putting 20\'s then....hmnnn......Hey thanks for that, didnt know Tein spanners will fit, the height adjuster thingy looks different to the tein ones, the Mazdaspeed ones have holes instead.

Im searching for a rear diffuser, i\'ll do a search.

So many clean RX7\'s in here, glad to see owners take well care of it.....wish us Aussies have a forum like this, the ausrotary aussie forum is not as deep into RX7\'s....mainly the older RX3 etc cars.

Please don\'t put 20 inch wheels on it, Its overkill and will really ruin the car.

The car looks awesome as is.

I know what the scene is like in OZ.
Unless its got 19 or 20" of chrome you wont fit in.

HAHA only 17" they will say.
And look how high it is. It like a 4wd.

Its high so it will handle properly. In Japan hardly any one has 18"s even cause most people run expensive Semi-slick tyres and they are kind of expensive. I guess the other reason is they race pretty well every opportunity on the street and need real performance.

By looking at your MR2, I think youll find it hard to resist.
Buy some 20" rims. Put them on. Drive it around.
Then put your AWESOME 17" AVS T6 back on and the car and it will feel like it should and handle 2000% better.
You will really notice the weight difference.
But if your going to cruise and enjoy the OZ scene where you cant race on every street, it would still look very hot indeed with 20\'s.

I would have like some Enkei RPF1 in 19" for street driving. Yummmmy

Enjoy.

We will watch your mods with interest.

Very nice car!  :)  do you still live in Sydney then?  Is it the 280bhp model?

I think the FD\'s aren\'t that popular in Oz like they are here because of the import regs.  :(  they are sensational cars indeed!

Thanks for posting.

thanks rextreme!!

is that your FD in your Avatar? Looks siik man :Thumbsup! ....think ive seen it on one of the OZ forums before....

I thought 20inch Volk GTC\'s wont be to bad since alot of the Top Secret Japanese GTR\'s and 350Z\'s use them as it suits the color of their Top Secret Gold painted cars with the rims, plus it fills up the huge guards nicely.

Great looking car mate, even though i can only see a couple of the pictures. :)
Have got some mazdapseed side skirts to go on my car as soon as i can get the money for them. Those rear spat s are different looking. Are they 1 piece that wrap around the rear, or in two pieces?

those rear GTC pods are in two pieces left and right side. When I got my car from Japan they wernt on the car, it looks to me that the previous owner mustve ditched them. I personally prefer without them anyway.
