Title: lambda sensor
Post by: andy darby on January 18, 2006, 09:25:33 PM
hi peeps
i had my car at power engineering today, just for a power run. apart from dissapointing figures, the tester said my co2@ idle figure of 7.5% was way to high! he said that it might be the lambda sensor. now not being the least bit mechanical none of this means anything to me. what i would like to know is where it is? what it is? what does it do? when i type it into the parts, search engine of above vendors i get a picture back of a power fc. so is it something the power fc does. do i need to get one? (planning too anyway) or is it something else?
cheers for any advise

The main question did the company do the power run ever have experience with rotarys ? The readings at idle are very wierd. I think the ecu only looks at the readings after a set point because of all the air chucked into the system by the air pump. It all depends on what you have had done to the car. I only have a vauge remeberence of what pip was talking about, it was well over a year ago when a friend put it on the gas tester and his eyes almost popped out of his head. No doubt one of the tuners will give you a better answer.

Power Engineering have been tuning for years, mainly Ford\'s, Subaru\'s and Evo\'s and the guys there do know what they are talking about.

I do not know how much knowledge of rotary\'s they have, but they do know plenty about turbo\'d cars.

Think they\'re just telling you you\'re running rich, I wouldn\'t spend any money at that garage for now, take the car to a rotary tuner when you can afford an apexi, and get it tuned while you\'re there. Any problems they will spot them at that time.

edit: try a search for o2 sensor (narrowband) instead if you want more info than you get just using lambda sensor btw.
