Title: Hi all, another newbie!
Post by: avityesboy on January 17, 2006, 07:06:28 PM
May i take this opurtunity to introduce myself unfortunately my name is Nigel so really i should be on the rover 25 forum. Better news is that ive just purchased an RX7 and will go by my cpu name of avi. (albeit that ive only seen pictures of the car and not seen it in the flesh yet!) OMG i here u say, but im told im in good hands as its a reputable dealer of imports and also has a 12 month warranty.

Im just gagging to see how quick she is, as my fastest motor to date was a lardy 2wd calibra turbo. The cars getting a full service, valet, dyno and tune before i take delivery hopefully next Monday.

Oh forgot to say its a 93 fresh import in red and apparently running 360bhp. Its had around £4k of goodies fitted, but thats not too much i suppose when a full suspension costs a grand!

Anyways been reading through most of the posts for the last few days and you all seem to be considerably more helpful than a lot i have been on.

So heres to hopefully a long and lasting friendship to you, the site and hopefully the car! :guinness

Heres the copy and pasted sales description:

ONLY 44,000 miles, HKS double clutch, HKS Induction Kit, HKS F-CON V PRO ECU, HKS hard pipes, HKS injection control, HKS turbo timer, Tanabe SS exhaust, big brake conversion, Cusco coilover suspension, ARC Intercooler, bonnet vents, new Volks CE28 alloys with Yokohama GP Tyres, TRUST boost controller, late model rear spoiler and front lip, immaculate condition.

I did pay 7k for it, but it has got a years warranty which i think will be worth a bit on it.

Quote2wd Calibra turbo? What happened to the other 2 wheels?

The same as all the other Calibras, they drove out the factory and the transfer boxes instantly self destructed. lol

I agree, I\'ve had a few slippery moments but nothing to worry about at the time!! but as everyone has said, take it easy & don\'t try breaking the seriouse damage record of 8 hours after collection!!!!

Hope you enjoy the car and the company it brings...... I have and it makes the fuel bill worth while!!!

Thanks for putting up those pictures. I was thinking about how my car would look if I painted the centre console and dash red, and now I know!

Hi

Welcome to the club.

Nice RX and nice mods.  Be careful - all that power in wet will easily spin the car 360"

Do not accelerate too much when taking corners in wet..

Regards,
Michaelb

I just read through the other newbie thread who smacked his motor up within 8 hours, sorry to hear it of course! Im gonna be soooooooooo careful. With some will power i will only be going out in the dry as i can appreciate how (fun) dangerous it could be in the wet.
